Wow, the Oilers are a very bad team. I knew they weren't good, but I think they are as bad as they have ever been. Get past their 3 "superstars" and they suck.

A month ago I wouldn't have thought it possible, but I would guess that Columbus will catch them soon.

Nice!

Other than Hall (who was hurt) the team showed no emotion what so ever. I feel bad for Renney. Has any team picked 1st overall 3 times in a row?

I barely watched any of the game. I was asleep by 9 last night. I don't feel bad for anyone in northern Alberta.

Did the Sens pick 1st overall 3 years in a row way back?

I hope the Oil don't win the lottery this year.

Wow, I would be real concerned if I was an Oilers fan. It is one thing to rebuild and have growing pains, but when you have a 20 man roster and only one player looks like he even gives a sh!t, you got problems.

In the words of the great Terry Jones, "the Oilers are a bunch of weak kneed wimps"

How does a team of young players have NO HEART!

But guys, the Oilers are only two or three years away from Cup contention. They're rebuild is almost complete.

No doubt & I think Tambellini is the biggest problem. He is terrified to make a deal that will help the team win. Is easy to sell assets off for picks & prospects, it takes balls to trade picks & assets for key pieces to start to take the next phase of the plan. He should have traded early in the year when they got that dream start, the kids where confident, goaltending phenomenal & most of their secondary prospects had a higher perceived value. Eveb if they win the lottery, they should be trading that 1st overall for either a stud dman &/or a goaltender of the future. That team isnt playing for Renney anymore, guys like Hall I think are getting tired of losing & it showed at the end of the game.

Wonder what we could even give Columbus for Carter? I would love to see him come to Calgary but we really dont have anything to offer, maybe Kipper, but that would be disastrous at this point.

we don't need carter.

He adds nothing we need. Just another sniper that we have none one but tanguay to set up. Roy would be a better deal and suit our needs more.

Same thing we've always needed. a passing centring and one more D. Basically to replace regher and hopefully jbo soon - who played great last night but thats not a good game to use as his bench mark.

Jbo to edmonton? he seems to play well there.

I worry that Roy would come over here and be Stajan 2.0... he's a decent playmaking center in the east, on his current team. Would that translate here though? I guess you never know if you don't try... I'm just leery of trading for a guy that's never demonstrated elite level playmaking ability.

I think Carter wouldnt be a bad fit, with Iggy or not, we still have Cammi & Tanguay for him to play with.

I'm not sure Carter's a significant upgrade over Jokinen at this point though. Joker's finally turned a corner here... he's learned how to play defense, and he's using his size and strength to create offense again.

And he's significantly cheaper than Carter, with way less term on his contract.
